out with the old, in with the new
i had three farewells on Friday, the last day of school.
One was for a teacher who’s Japan bound for abit and then off to headquarters. She was a good teacher both in the academic sense and in the sense that she was full of bullshit just like us and the fact that she was young enabled her to emphatize with us easily. She was a good teacher in the sense that she almost always brought a smile to class or otherwise a very very -.- disposition which is what she really looks like because her eyes are small. Add to that a potent ability to converse in Japanese and you get a teacher the MOE has taken from us to go to greener pastures- good choice!
The other farewell was the ODAC farewell which I didn’t manage to attend because I had to go for the house comm one and then I had tuition so sorry you odac dogs woof woof! It was one heck of a journey with the crazy bunch of 30 odd people around, we were running, climbing stairs, climbing mountains, kayaking doing all sorts of crazy shit together and who could forget the ODAC room. I used to avoid the place in the morning for God Knows What reason but now I have to contend going to the canteen and looking for people I know now instead of going to a room I’m so familiar with.
Although 99% of you were Chinese, you took me with open arms and labelled me as the liberal muslim as compared to hardliner malaysian Faruq. And I enjoyed that title because that enabled me to have even more fun with you people and being the butt of racism jokes and understanding all your chinese dialogue…I really didn’t mind. We supported each other throughout the year because we were a family and people recognized us for being very bloody tight-knit. We were always the gang being chased by teachers for morning assembly, one of the things that gave us an identity. I’m going to miss you guys…a lot.
Special thanks to three people especially, not as if I don’t wanna thank the rest! To jie rong, for being a great captain and growing and maturing since secondary school, ben for being that insane audiophile bu being more insane and to dominic, you always stimulated my mind with your KI shit which i enjoy conversing about.
Lastly of course I had house comm farewell….boohooo D :
wordpress resizing sucks cock.
Anyway, I had to say goodbye to the following people…
I can never reiterate enough how special this bunch of people were. Friday’s farewell was not a farewell for me because I told myself not to regard it as a farewell and I had to go off after 45 minutes due to tuition so everything was cut short and there was no closure, so that’s good…for now. I really want to meet them again and say goodbye properly.
Anyway, just a very short thank you(long ones next time) to you 7 of you for enduring my bullshit as a captain, sometimes for being unreasonable, at other times for being too demanding and we may not have led triton to the 1st place or whatever but I think we’ve won the reputation as the smartest house who had the most fun and was the most honest one. No really, everytime I suggested cheating they said no. So….hahaha at least they had consciences unlike me. You’ve supported me through my toughest times like family and I’ve tried to do the same for you. We don’t need to tell secrets to each other or share our favourite colour, food or whatever or do a facebook quiz but I can safely say that what we know most about each other is the perfection that lie in each other. Each of you has that idealistic characteristic only others can dream about and you have displayed it throughout our house comm journey. Thank you very much.
To 7th house comm, the journey may be tough but take it in your stride and fucking ace everything!

haha whatever you say amirul i still wanna say thanks for your note!!! it was heartfelt
