Superstitious

As unconversative and yet conservative Loretta’s family is, I must say that the Chinese are a superstitious bunch. While indulging and possibly helping out in the Blackjack proceedings, noticed a lot of things…

1. Feng and Shui are two important ingredients in winning. In the case that you’re having bad luck, go wash your hands (Feng? Shui?) and then let the wind dry it for you. Instant luck guaranteed!

2. Apek= Ace.

3. When you want an Apek to come out, you slam the card down.

4. Otherwise, you slowly peek the card out behind the first card you see.

5. In  the case that you have four cards out and am about to draw a fifth card, take one of the cards you took already and then use method number 4.

6. A guy’s luck is supposedly better than a girl’s.

7. You cannot rub the shoulder of someone playing blackjack or the luck will be brushed away.

8. The person cutting the deck is very important.

9. And so are the cards apparently. We were playing with Princess cards that had lots of Blackjack for other people but none for Lorry.
