Chapter 108: And so the story goes, deedadeedeedadeeda
You know you’re an Arts student when most of the time, your mind isn’t on the lecture and then…you start doodling on the paper and all sorts of weird geometric shapes come up depicting your otherwise whimsical mind.

When you start to write lyrics to non-existent songs that play in your mind, the tune, the arrangment of the instruments and the tone kicked in.
When you are awake not because you want to pay attention, but because you’re too busy doing the above.
When the most interesting subject to you is the compelling theory of everything and art.
When during recess, you’re doing either of three things: Sleeping, finishing up homework, eating
But I’m guessing that’s just me or maybe MJ.
The stereotypes about MJ are undeniable. I came in with the notion that the place was filled to the brim with people who wanted to study for a living and I have been proven correct. The only spark of life in the fools is the determination to study and utilise the school life fully.
I mean for them MSB = 0
And MSC = Your WHOLE SOCIAL LIFE
See for the optimum social welfare, shouldn’t MSC=MSB? Obviously they haven’t studied enough. I know my perception of the Science students is a little bit skewed but I can’t help but think that they’re weird (well…some) and can’t help but think the same way about me too.
Take for example, the way we (East Coast people…the east side of singapore) think that people in the West are typified by 2 things:
1. Aren’t THAT educated
2. Don’t have proper english names
But we not that isn’t true. During OBS, I met a whole bunch from the West and they had english names and they were street smart. They knew what they were doing most of the time, unlike some of us here in the East.
I try to do my best during all my subjects because I’m spurred on by some things and one of it is because I do not want to reinforce stereotypes about Malays. Simple. Especially during my Economics lesson, i do my work diligently and though it’s not THAT up to par at least it shows that I am more conscientious of my work and more hardworking than one would think a Malay boy would be.
I can vouch that the Malay boys in MJ are pretty hardworking. The soccer ones and the non soccer ones. The soccer ones because they recognize that they have an obligation almost every other day towards soccer and so do their work at their same old bench before practice and then the non soccer ones because they’re MJ students at heart.
Which implies that life sux, and you haf to studiex.
I asked a friend if school was boring yet and she said, “Yes”
I totally disagree because I still forget where my lessons are and…everything’s so new it’s even…exciting. Wow Mj.
