Chapter 96: So ahead of time

For once in my life, I’m ahead of homework having done practically everything before the dateline so weekdays are relatively free for me and dinner has been 2 nights in a row. One with Ysabel and Jolyn, the other with the ODAC people.

I’ve noticed that the batch this year is so…Yu Neng-ish. Although that was 4 years ago, it brought back memories of that old primary school. The people in MJ aren’t anything like those in TK, at all. But they’re good people those in ODAC, good people.

I just realised that I haven’t had such a normal Malay childhood.

1. None of my relatives have ever owned a stall, let alone a business.
2. I’ve never been back to a ‘kampung’ fo’ real.
3. Life wasn’t filled with learning how to make ‘kuehs’
4. I don’t have a favourite malay stall I frequent
5. I have never conserved full in Malay with my grandparents before (hence the english medium diary)
6. I spent my childhood without the ball, spinnng top or goli or whatever it is

If you’ve had any of the above experiences, you’re a qualified Malay. Qualified, you hear me!
