Chapter Thirty-Nine: Easy to say goodbye
The year of the O-levels done with and I spent my new year working.
And broke a 200 dollar lamp that hung low.
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH! But my Operations Manager didn’t mind because we had good sales today. She’s been in a good mood for 3 days now (she always was in a bad mood apparently) and we’re speculating that she got a big fat bonus for the end of the year.
Anyway, some things I’ve done with my money.
1. Buy concession pass, top up my ez-link
2. Gave 100 to parents out of filial piety (I’m not bullshitting) and Evonne said the normal rate was 10% of your pay and I gave 20%. Shit.
3. Bought a pair of onitsukas for school
4. Uh…and surprised Rachel. At least after 4 years I know where on Earth her house is but she’s moving.
And I still have money. I don’t know what to do with it, I don’t want to save. Anyway, here’s to a new year 2008! It looks like a nice number.

What Evonne said the other day was queerly reflective and insightful of human nature.
“You know, now that I’m in Singapore, I kinda miss San Francisco.”
Absence really makes the heart grow fonder doesn’t it? I have a bad feeling that she’s never going to come back.
Again.
