Chapter Eleven: Perk me up please?
Tell me when you look into the mirror what do you see? First you see your your eyes and you scan over your face, from your hair down to your eyes again, to your nose, then your lips, to your chin and to your neck downwards.
Then your eyes dart back up again and your look into your irises even deeper. You then see your own reflection looking into the mirror. You look notice the jet black colour or hazel brown coloour of it and you blink.
Your eyes move to your face and you don’t see your own face anymore, not one you can begin to recognize. Creased lines etched into your skin tell of a different story of your life that you recognize but do not acknowledge, the lies, the fights, the happiness and what melancholy there is left all lie in your face.
You don’t look your age, you look older. Not wiser, but tired. So very tired.
It’s not you in the mirror, not a reflection. The only thing that is true about it is just that it’s something unreal.
